Just listed yesterday on Amazon…”Traveling the Backroads of San Miguel—Snippets of Paintable History” Linda Whynman and I have been traveling these backroads now for 6 years and this book records in words and art our experiences.
Eventually, for our San Miguel friends, we will have hardcopy books in hand but if you can’t wait or live elsewhere you can order your very own copy now. Even I don’t have a copy yet.
The purpose of this book is to entertain and inform the armchair traveler or artist and perhaps embolden some to explore the nearby countryside around San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. The explorations of the rich and layered history of this part of Mexico could last a lifetime. Throughout this book, we share what we have discovered as well as what we have recorded with our art.
We have been traveling the back roads around San Miguel de Allende for almost six years painting watercolors of the numerous capillas and more recently adding haciendas, bridges, dams, and other historic structures to our painting repertoire. Mexican history is everywhere and what was once simply a series of enjoyable plein air outings has morphed into a quest to understand the history of this place.
