Two reviews from Amazon:
Linda Whynman and Lorie Topinka have done a masterful job of not only presenting their readers with beautiful watercolor paintings of capillas around San Miguel de Allende but also giving us a little history of the chapels or churches that are featured. The local history and stories made me appreciate and enjoy the paintings of the capillas so much more. The histories are obviously well-researched and are clearly presented as a natural adjunct to the watercolors. I loved the personal accounts of interactions with the locals when the artists were doing plein aire watercolor sketches in their towns. For readers interested in exploring the countryside around San Miguel, this little book would be a great starting point. An A+ job!
Lovely watercolors capture the charm of San Miguel de Allende’s rural capillas. The information about the capillas and maps have me planning some day trips to see them in person. This is an amazing book that can be enjoyed as an armchair traveler, a visitor to San Miguel. or as a resident that would like to see more of the real SMA outside of Centro. Bravo!
